Quite interesting post by a Greek economist who

got hired by Valve, the videogame company, at a time where Valve was struggling with "shared currencies", an issue that Valve's CEO – Gabe Newell – was comparing with "Germany and Greece".

Serendipity… it's all around us.

IT ALL BEGAN WITH A STRANGE EMAIL | Valve
It was late at night in October of last year when the strange email arrived. In fact, I only read it by accident and did not delete it by some miracle of fate. Before the Euro Crisis erupted in 2009, …

McDonald's: In-store VS photoshoot

No matter what we think of McDonald's, fast-food in general and the quality of the food, this short video is quite interesting.
Full of transparency, it shows us how burgers are shot and… "why" they don't look anything like what you order.

Alright, they don't have the guts to leave comments open on YouTube but heh… it's a step, right?

I thought I would be getting a nice portrait shot for this week's theme, but… I'll have to go with a faceless shot.

I was attending a couple of friends' wedding this week-end and shot a few candid portraits of them, but didn't ask for their permission to post, so I'll stick to some other shot.

Here, you can see the bride serving Champagne on a glass pyramid, with the groom right in the background.

Of course, this is for +Project52-2012 curated by +Giuseppe Basile +Kate Church moderated by +Greg Berdan +LaDonna Pride +Sue Butler
But also for #glassworldtuesday  by +Jana Smith.

Have a great week.

So… I'm going to cheat on +Daniel Graupner¬†on this one.
I'm not too keen on SOOC (Straight Out Of the Camera) with DLRs as… everything is being processed by the camera one way or another anyway (you can even get SOOC-HDRs now ;)), so I'll just put weeks 23 and 24 in a bag ūüėČ and use it as an auto-critic.
The shot on the right is the SOOC one.
I didn't like the composition, the white balance (tiny bit too yellow for me) and the clarity of it all. I would have converted it to B&W but… wanted to see how color went on this one.
Hence the shot on the left, with relatively minimal editing:
– Slight change in color temperature (300)
Tiny bit of contrast (+10)
– Some minor changes in tones
– Strong clarity boost (+86)
– Lens correction
– Reframing

And… that's it.
What do you think?
